Yesterdays’ Omens
September 11th | Yesterdays’ Omens | The Fine Grind | Little Falls, NJ, USA
It was an expedition into an unknown land called New Jersey. A yellow school bus left Manhattan transporting a group of New Yorkers to the opening. Quite an experience! A huge thanks to Peter Freeman for making the commute possible. Eternal gratitude to John Pirozzi for installing the artwork.

- November 29th | Mean Rup Mean Tuk, group exhibition at Ministry of Culture, Phnom Penh, Cambodia
17 artists exhibiting at the department of plastic arts of the ministry of culture. 5 Khmer artists and 12 international artists coming together to produce a series of works on the theme : with a body comes suffering. The crowd was overwhelming but the greatest success story is not about the sale, not about the many hundred people but about the khmer artists who exhibited the first time their works. The Selapak Neari were on a magic cloud that night. Veasna and Kanitha’s mother was so proud of her daughters who proved her right to keep on supporting them to follow their dreams. What more moving that to see these artists shine like stars!
Thank you to the people of the department of plastic arts specifically Suos Sodavy and to the international artists who helped to pay for the exhibition’s expense. But the most important of all is to ANA (Arts Network Asia) who made it possible that these Khmer artists could come together meet, work and connect with other artists.
- October 18th | “Under shades of wall”, group exhibition with Théo Vallier and Chhin Taingchhea, at Gasolina, Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
The opening night was a success for all. It was a huge crowd that kept on coming and going all evening… So many people responded in a very positive way to the exhibition. Many were moved and felt related to the theme of the exhibition which were very coherent as a whole. Théo did a performance, graffiti on a wall and some even participated. All the artists sold that night. First time I ever saw an artist sold out: congratulation Théo!

- June | “Un Homme dans la ville”, group exhibition with 15 French artists, at Expression Libre, Paris, France.

Initiated by Philippe Guillard co-director of Flower, an agency of creation and design, the exhibition was oriented toward each artist’s perception of the city. From urban texture to urban soundscape, each artist share their vision of the urban experience today. From sculpture to sound artist, Philippe Guillard broaden our notion of the city through an artistic approach for the city dwellers. From paintings to drawings, the curator allowed each artist to perform at the opening night with horn player, a food designer and two artists drawing on a dust board a street of an “imaginary” city!
- February | « Portraits de femmes » with Chinese multimedia artist Mo-Ling Chui based in Beijing and Qudy Xu Chinese painter based in Phnom Penh, at New Art Gallery, Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

“One is not born woman, she becomes one“. By action, a woman can change her situation at anytime if she so desires. This action, in return, justifies its own existence, i.e. the freedom to simply be a woman. The exhibition “Portraits of women” remains faithful to this idea that the women have a great task to achieve: to live! Three artists, three different glimpses. To illustrate dreamlike or real states sensibilities, these artists use drawing, painting and video as manifestations of scattered images of an enigma. In each one, a part of the puzzle constitutes a negligible share of the mystery.
